Maleficent/Snow White Shoot

Today I was a makeup artist on photo-shoot today, the photographer asked me to do a maleficent look for her image she was wanting to achieve.

These are some images I took on shoot while I wait for the final edited images.

she mentioned she is going to edit in the hair piece. the photographer only took pictures from the shoulders upwards. she cooperated into the pictures an apple and a mirror. this brought the mix of snow white into the images.

I really enjoyed myself today on set and cant wait to do more.

I will put edited images on once I receive.

Creative Hair &MakeUp

Today I had my creative hair and makeup assessment at uni, I have worked on this piece for weeks.

I really enjoyed the whole process of this piece and would definitely do a piece like this again.

My theme is The Wizard of Oz, the hair represents the whirlwind, with straw, tin and fur for the characters, the yellow brick road running through the whirlwind. I made the outfit out of tissue paper making poppies and attached it to a black boob tube top. Then the makeup I kept simple with the green on the eyes and nails for the emerald city with the natural lip.

I am really pleased with these images of my piece.

 

 

 

Pantomime MakeUp

I have been asked to be part of the makeup team for a amateur pantomime, Beauty & The Beast, with Brighouse Theatre Productions. I was in charge with the dame makeup, I also did any other makeup that needed doing before the show.

Doing the dame makeup was a very different experience, I have never done such a bold makeup like this. I really enjoyed applying and been this makeup artist for the week of the show, I got into a routine and got quicker applying it as the week went on.

 

Wedding 2013

This weekend I did a bridal and mother of the bride makeup. she wanted to be natural with a slight shimmer on the eye. My Snowman!

I am really pleased with how my prosthetic piece applied on, this is my first time applying and I know with practice I will learn how to fade the edges out completely.

 

Applying my Prosthetic Piece

This is my step by step to how I applied my prosthetic piece.

I first coloured my face in the white, for the snow, around my eyes, round my cheeks and my chin. The gap you see is where my piece will fit on my face.

 

From there I filled my eyelids and under my eye with black. This is representing the snowman’s eyes that we use stones or buttons for.  Looking back I would change the eyes and make them slightly smaller, I feel they are a little too big for my face.

Once I was happy with the texture of my white and my eyes I then added my prosthetic nose and cheeks piece.

To attach my piece I used prosade, which is a watery substance that you apply with a brush onto the part of your skin you would like your piece setting. I also brushed some onto my prosthetic piece then carefully placed it onto my face, fitting it on and holding until the prosade reacted with itself and stuck.

From here I had to use a cotton bud and go round the edges of my piece and stick them down to they wouldn’t peel away.

Once it was all stuck down I could go round my edges dabbing the white colouring round to blend it with my face. When I was happy with my blending and with my piece I added the black dots to create my snowman mouth.

Special Occasion Hair & Make-Up

Today I did a hair and makeup design for a beach wedding, I kept her makeup natural, darkened and shaped her brow.  On the eye I used natural shimmer powders from Bobbi Brown. I love these colours because it really opens and enhances the colour of the eye. The lip I have given a pink colour with a gloss.

The hair style I have made simple and out of the way to keep my client cool through the wedding, I have done an up-do style. I have added a couple of hair extensions in to thicken and lengthen the hair, from this I brought the hair round to the side and placed in a low ponytail. On the ponytail I added a hair piece (doughnut) to create a neat hair bun. With any extra hair I wrapped it round the bun and clipped it in place, once I was happy with my look I added in the final hair piece to match my clients outfit.

Charity Catwalk

Today I helped out at a charity fashion catwalk, I didn’t no what to expect for this job so I took my whole kit so I know I had everything, just in case. we had to do basic hair as well as the makeup. there were a few models that all needed doing, the head makeup artist told us what makeup design we needed to do and what type of hair style.

We did a dark blue eyes and red lips, with a messy style hair.

 

I enjoyed this experience within the catwalk industry, and I would do it all again.

Now I have my prosthetic piece I can now colour it to fit with my character.

When I mixed my silicone to make my final prosthetic piece I mixed it an orange colour so it would set and be coloured for my character nose.

 

On the pictures below  you can see I only coloured the part of the prosthetic I will be using which is the nose and cheeks. Luckily, because of the coloured silicone I used, I didn’t have to use the oil paints on my nose; I just put on black lines around the creases to make it look like a carrot.

Halloween Zumba

Tonight at zumba class was Halloween dress up, so I got asked to do a makeup for their character,

dead doctor and a zombie ballerina
