Maleficent/Snow White Shoot

Today I was a makeup artist on photo-shoot today, the photographer asked me to do a maleficent look for her image she was wanting to achieve.

These are some images I took on shoot while I wait for the final edited images.

she mentioned she is going to edit in the hair piece. the photographer only took pictures from the shoulders upwards. she cooperated into the pictures an apple and a mirror. this brought the mix of snow white into the images.

I really enjoyed myself today on set and cant wait to do more.

I will put edited images on once I receive.

Creative Hair &MakeUp

Today I had my creative hair and makeup assessment at uni, I have worked on this piece for weeks.

Thinking of my idea

Making my hair piece

Designing makeup

Creating the outfit

I really enjoyed the whole process of this piece and would definitely do a piece like this again.

My theme is The Wizard of Oz, the hair represents the whirlwind, with straw, tin and fur for the characters, the yellow brick road running through the whirlwind. I made the outfit out of tissue paper making poppies and attached it to a black boob tube top. Then the makeup I kept simple with the green on the eyes and nails for the emerald city with the natural lip.

I am really pleased with these images of my piece.

Face Casting

Face coat- mould life, life form – Part A – Light Green

Part B – Dark Green

Place the apron/plastic sheet around your model, Vaseline the eyebrows and lashes.

Draw a quick dotted line around the area of the face you want to cast.

Around the forehead, down the sides, under the chin.

Mix a large spoonful of A with the same amount of B. Mix together well.

Place onto the face quickly but safely, rolling on with the brush starting with the forehead. Making sure the nostril area is kept clear so your model can breathe with ease. Make sure that it is all covered with no gaps, wholes or spaces.

Once the face is covered place bandage over eyes and mouth.

Plaster bandage, fold in half, dip in water and place over the mouth, over the head, down each side of the face, down the nose. Covering the whole of the face and where the face mould is.

Fold length way and place it around the face as the frame of the head.

Leave to set for a few minutes.

Keep hands clean.

Sit the model up, tilting the models head forward.

Using the wooden tool, slowly peel the casting off. If the model moves their face and breathes out it will come loose and come off easier.
