Creative Hair &MakeUp

Today I had my creative hair and makeup assessment at uni, I have worked on this piece for weeks.

Thinking of my idea

Making my hair piece

Designing makeup

Creating the outfit

I really enjoyed the whole process of this piece and would definitely do a piece like this again.

My theme is The Wizard of Oz, the hair represents the whirlwind, with straw, tin and fur for the characters, the yellow brick road running through the whirlwind. I made the outfit out of tissue paper making poppies and attached it to a black boob tube top. Then the makeup I kept simple with the green on the eyes and nails for the emerald city with the natural lip.

I am really pleased with these images of my piece.

Making Blood

In today’s lesson I created fake blood. To achieve this I used Toffee Ice-Cream Sauce, Red, Green and Yellow food colouring.  I squeezed the full bottle of toffee sauce into a clean, empty plastic bottle. I then added half the bottle of the red food colouring, shake together.

To create the blood effect you need to have an idea of the colouring of blood, research and seeing blood in its form is a way of achieving this.

Once the toffee sauce and red food colouring are shaken together a small amount of yellow colouring can be added, and a drop or two of green. In between each adding you have to shake the products together and test.
